Green Day regrava tema dos Simpsons

A banda Green Day regravou a música-tema do desenho Os Simpons e a faixa será lançada em três formatos diferentes.O single chega às lojas norte-americanas dia 24 de junho, três dias antes do filme estrear nos cinemas. Depois, ela será vendida digitalmente e numa versão especial, em formato de donut, com as músicas instrumentais compostas para película.Eles não entraram na trilha sonora do filme, como o Fall Out Boy, mas o trio faz uma participação especial em uma das cenas

Green Day se preocupa com meio ambiente e grava nova canção

O Green Day criou um site - http://www.greendaynrdc.com - que expõe as preocupações da banda com os problemas ambientais. Esta é a mais nova e efetiva ação do grupo.O site permite que as pessoas digam o que fazem para proteger o meio ambiente, além de dar pequenas dicas do que pode ser feito. Além disso, o internauta pode fazer upload de vídeos do Green Day relacionados com a nova causa.A banda é formada por Billie Joe (vocal e guitarra), Mike Dirnt (baixo) e Tré Cool (Bateria) e sempre foi conhecida por tocar punk rock. Agora, O Green Day se prepara para gravar a canção "Working Class Hero" para o álbum 'Instant Karma'. O trabalho está sendo produzido em benefício da Anistia Internacional, que tenta acabar com os genocídios na cidade de Darfur. Além da música, haverá um vídeoclipe. Outros artistas que provavelmente participarão da coletânea são Willie Nelson, Jack Johnson, Black Eyed Peas e The Cure. Até agora, a data de lançamento do álbum é 12 de Junho.

E o Green Day?

Faz tempo que eu não posto nada aqui e depois deste fim-de-semana senti que poderia contribuir com algo. Tudo bem que esse post não é sobre o GD, tudo bem que eu sei que esse blog é do GD, mas acho que eu devo escrever.Sábado eu fui ao meu sexto show do Bad Religion, este rolou na Chácara do Jockey, perto de casa… Eles tocaram no GAS FESTIVAL, uma iniciativa da B/FERRAZ em parceria com a Ambev sob a marca Guaraná Antárctica.Eu só não fui à um show do BR aqui no Brasil, quando em 1996 eles tocaram no Close-Up Festival, que contou ainda com as bandas Sex Pistols (ou o que tinha restado ela) e Marky Ramone And The Intruders (em sua primeira, mas não melhor formação…). Nas outras 5 vezes eu estava presente. A primeira e clássica aparição em 1999 no finado Olympia no dia 09 de Março (lembro, por que ganhei o ingresso de anviersário… De meu pai), a segunda no mesmo ano quando tocaram no Skol Rock divulgando o álbum “No Substance”, com Offspring e The Vandals, a terceira vez em 2001 no Credicard Hall durante a tour do álbum “New America”, dia em que rolou a fatídica invasão de palco em que a banda deixou de tocar 5 canções e foi embora… A quarta vez na tour de lançamento do “Empire Strikes First” em um show junto com o Pennywise no Anhembi, em São Paulo e a quinta vez, de novo no Credicard Hall em São Paulo no finzinho da tour “Empire Strikes First” e quase começo da tour para o mais novo álbum a banda “New Maps Of Hell”.Este último show que citei, em específico, marcou um dos melhores momentos que já passei em um show do BR. Em dado momento, Greg Graffin, o grande vocalista da banda diz: “É muito bom estar aqui no Brasil novamente… Como sempre é muito bom tocar em São Paulo. E eu digo uma coisa… Nós só estamos aqui mais uma vez, por que vocês gostam da gente. Então, enquanto vocês nos quiserem por qui, nós iremos voltar.” Essa declaração me deixou extasiado e ainda mais apaixonado pela banda. E isso se evidenciou no último Sábado.Confesso que eu só comprei o ingresso para vê-los. E não poderia ser diferente. Sem detrimento a nenhuma banda que participou do festival, mas tenho certeza que muita gente só foi lá para ver o BR. E o que eles fizeram em cima do palco foi, sem trocadilhos, um show a parte.Contando com o fator histórico e a platéia na mão, a banda fez um show fantástico, como sempre. Na questão de set-list obviamente que muitas canções históricas ficaram faltando, até para dar lugar a preciosidades do novo álbum como “Requiem For Dissent” e “New Dark Ages”, mas alguns clássicos estavam lá, como por exmeplo ”Punk Rock Song“, “Flat Earth Society“, “You” e até “Big Bang“. Presença de palco? Impecável. Qualidade de som? Muito foda. Disposição? 100%. Em uma palavra: RESPEITO.Isso que eu chamo de respeito pelos fãs. Isso que eu chamo de banda que se importa com o público que possui. Dava para ver na cara de cada um dos 5 membros da banda que estavam absurdamente felizes em tocar para cerca de 10.000 pessoas que foram lá só para vê-los. Era absurda a imagem da imensa galera cantando os sons da banda… Verso por verso… E o teor de sinceridade em cada “thank you” que emanava dos P.A.s.O que tudo isso tem a ver com o Green Day?Eu diria que todas as linhas desse post tem a ver como Green Day.No momento estou indignado, triste (de certa forma) e muito puto com o fato de uma banda como o Green Day não ter voltado mais para tocar por aqui. Fico impressioando que bandas como MxPx, The Donnas, The Queers e outras vieram e voltaram ou voltarão mais vezes para tocar por aqui… Sem contar com Reel Big Fish, Goldfinger (ambas pela primeira vez aqui) e o Less Than Jake, que parece virá novamente em 2009, reza a lenda… Eu acho que isso é respeito com os fãs, como falei acima, respeito com as pessoas que respiram cada milímetro do que essas bandas produzem, dizem, simbolizam… Não sei se consigo, hoje, sentir isso pelo GD.Até hoje eu nunca tinha comentado quase nada a respeito e achei mais justo comentar isso no blog do site, que é o veículo que utilizamos para comunicarmos com todos os fãs da banda aqui no Brasil. Eu me sinto de certa forma até traído pelo GD. Como fã incondicional da banda, manja? Traído como os milhões de fãs da América Latina que NUNCA mais tiveram a oportunidade de vê-los ao vivo… A não ser termos que nos contentar com imagens televisivas ou publicadas em revistas, internet e afins…Me desculpem, mas no momento o GD não é a minha banda favorita.E, pessoalmente, vai ter que ralar muito para voltar a ser.Sintam-se livres para comentar o que sentem…

Green Day Reaparece!


Depois de muito tempo, tivemos algumas noticias boas do Green Day nos ultimos dias.Noticias essas que dão aos fãs a esperança de algo novo, para bom ou para ruim. Mas esse é um assunto que não vamos abordá-lo novamente agora.Gostaria de dizer, que estou surpreso de ouvir de muita “gente” que não conhecem o Butch Vig.Esse cara realmente foi assunto essa semana, pois a vocalista do Garbage, Shirley Manson, disse que BV está produzindo o novo CD do Green Day para o lugar de Rob Cavallo, a lenda.Noticia vai, noticia vem, boatos chegam e enfim hoje saiu um video no YouTube, onde comprovamos a presença de Butch Vig no estúdio com Billie Joe. (ver no: www.thenimrods.com)Agora voltemos ao BV desconhecido.Muito me admira ver pessoas que se julgam fãs de música, do Green Day, e dos anos 90, não conhecerem nenhum(isso mesmo) trabalho de Butch Vig.Oras, não estou dizendo que sei muito de música, mas para quem se diz ser tão bom, não merece escutar música nunca mais, muito menos ser uma pessoa influente em redes sociais, e internet em geral.Não tem como não conhecer Butch Vig, Glen Ballard, Malcom Mclaren, Rick Rubin, Moby, Don King, Coca Cola e McDonald´s. É quase não viver nesse planeta.Butch produziu Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Soul Asylum, Jimmy Eat World, AFI e nas horas de folga era baterista do Garbage além é claro de produzi-los.E na boa, podem resmungar sobre o Rob aparentemente não estar com o Green Day nesse album novo, mas sem duvida se pegarmos o curriculo e resultados do Butch e comparar com o Rob, é quase 3×1 pro Butch.Agora nunca se sabe, vamos aguardar mais noticias sobre o Green Day e saberemos mais sobre o trabalho que está se desenrolando.Até breve.

Mas foi o rock do Green Day que se deu bem na noite do Video Music Awards da MTV norte-americana que aconteceu nesse domingo (28) em Miami. Da garagem alternativa para a consagração mundial: podia ser muito bem este o título do filme da vida do Green Day.
O trio nasce sob o sol californiano nos finais de 1988, destinado a reanimar o movimento punk. Dois anos mais tarde chega às discotecas “1000 Hours”, o primeiro álbum, um misto de rock, pop e punk a marcar os sons híbridos da banda de Billie Joe Amstrong (quitarra e voz), Mike Dirnt (baixo) e Al Sobrante (bateria), editado de forma independente. Rasgados elogios levam ao passo seguinte: assinatura de um contrato. “1039/Smoothed out slappy hour”, o primeiro de longa duração aparece no mercado uns meses mais tarde. Não mais pararam de editar, mas o maior triunfo da banda aparece com “Dookie” (94), que para além de vender milhões, rende um grammy ao trio californiano. Estavam içadas as velas e preparados os barcos para a descoberta e conquista do mundo.

Green Day vai gravar com produtor de Nirvana

Para o seu novo disco de inéditas, o Green Day está trabalhando com Butch Vig, baterista do Garbage. Vig produziu “Nevermind”, clássico do Nirvana, lançado em 1991 e outros grandes discos como “Siamese Dream” do Smashing Pumpkins, “Experimental Jet Set, Trash and No Star” do Sonic Youth e “Bricks are Heavy” do L7.
Quem confirmou a participação dele no próximo álbum do trio californiano foi Shirley Manson, vocalista do Garbage. Em entrevista para a MTV norte-americana, ela ainda contou que não sabe quando o Garbage irá lançar material inédito. “Estamos fazendo coisas diferentes. Butch está ocupado com o Green Day.”
O último disco de inéditas do Green Day foi o “American Idiot”, que tinha alguns hits como “Jesus of Suburbia”, “Holiday” e “Wake Me Up When September Ends”.

Depois de quase 2 anos desaparecidos, o Green Day voltou no final de 1999 tocando no "Bridge School Benefit Concert" (um show beneficente), sua primeira performance acústica ao vivo, com a inédita "Warning", e mais outros hits dos outros cds. O Green Day começou a gravar o cd seguinte a nimrod logo depois. Ele se chamaria "Warning".
